Some times, when you’ve had a long week, the best cure for exhaustion and stress is playing and playing and playing. So the other afternoon when Emmalia took a nap, play we did. :)

We are SO blessed.

P.S. A small add in since it is happening at the moment-the neighbor’s home is on fire. Please pray for the family’s safety and the crews as they work to contain it.

Spokane Photographer | 10 On Tuesday

by Holly on February 1, 2012

1. Hello Tuesday! Or goodbye, either one. I can’t believe we’re back to almost the middle of another week. This week finds us slightly better than last (the flu has left our household!) but with the busyness of life I’m not sure that all that has been accomplished. ;)

2. An answer to the number one question in my inbox-we bought a house here and we are staying in Spokane! We’re thrilled about that part, considering that at this time last year, we were sending resumes to Colorado and Texas and other far away states!

3. The house is coming. Slowly, but surely, it’s coming. We have hit so many speed bumps  it almost boggles my mind. Was it really only two weeks ago we got the offer in? I feel like it’s been 2 months, and swiftly approaching 2 years. For every hurdle we cross, for every day we conquer problems, new one’s pop up each morning. It’s almost funny. Almost. ;) Anyone else have any real estate horror stories to tell?

4. With that being said, and the assumption that meeting with a real estate lawyer (don’t ask) tomorrow, and then the bank appraisal goes well, I’m hoping that we’re close to being home free. And close we should be, as closing is only 5 weeks away. March 6th, hoorah!

5. And with that I haven’t  packed a single box. With all the craziness we come up against, I am determined that I would rather be haphazardly throwing things into boxes, than sad to be unpacking if the umpteenth thing falls through and sends us over the edge. That being said, I have a busy week this week and next week, and THEN I’ll start packing. With 3 weeks to go. ;)

6. I do fully intend on, after our home buying process (on this house or another!) is complete, to post reviews of some of the folks we have had the opportunity to work with through these last months. Our agent and lender have been nothing short of incredible, working under very tight deadlines, and with some not very helpful people on the other end. In a setting where we have seen some truly rigorous situations, they have worked efficiently, tirelessly and have been very communicative. Highest kudos to them.

7. I am officially on vacation February 20th through March 18th. I am not accepting any more sessions before those dates as I am full, but will be accepting sessions dates after the 18th, so go for it! First come, first serve, and all that good stuff. I do anticipate spring and summer booking extremely quickly (as is already the case) so please, contact me soon about dates, even if they are tentative at this point.

8. If you are a Facebook friend you already saw this, but I just love this picture. Landon talks A TON. He asks questions, he talks, he asks more questions, he talks some more. It is so much fun! He walks up to everyone at the store or at church, or anywhere really, and says “Hi, my name is Landon and I’m 4!”

9.

10. Have a happy week!

Or rather no 10 On Tuesday, just a picture of a very sick little guy who is keeping me super busy today, along with gathering all the nitty gritty details as we ready to move towards our closing date of March 6th on a new home, HOORAY! I’ll be back with details soon, but for now, stay healthy! :)

1. Happy Tuesday! And how about some winter storm warnings, eh? Landon has been dying for snow since September (yeah, he dreams early ;) ) and is so happy to see teeny tiny flakes coming down as we just have a dusting. I know that Seattle/Tacoma is getting dumped on as well, as Nathan was sent home from work for a few days this week, since the city basically shuts down.

2. Along with that, I must comment on how funny I think the news is when a HUMONGOUS AMAZING CRAZY winter storm is coming our way! They go on, and on, and on, and you get the idea. I know it might be alot of snow at once, but it still makes me laugh.

3. I was asked to review books for a publisher, and am having so much fun with it! In exchange for an honest review, they send me books, so reviews to come soon, with some book giveaways as well! (time to get reading! ;) )

4. I’m booking spring and early summer sessions! A few clients have already contacted me for availability and dates. I am booking an even more conservative number of sessions each month due to Nathan working out of town and being able to give quality time to each individual client. So, please, contact me soon if you are interested in spring sessions!

5. Who’s ready for tax time? Eek! I am SO grateful for our CPA, and it certainly helps that he and his wife are friends and some of the nicest people we know. :)

6. If anyone has issues figuring out crops on their images, I’m working on a post for you. I know that sometimes cropping at the print labs can be a bit daunting, and that you want your images to look fantastic! Let me know if you have any  questions for that post!

7. If you have Netflix, what do you use to play it? Right now we just hook up my laptop, but we’re currently figuring out different ideas for how we could make something else work, since I need to use my laptop, typically when the kids are watching a movie. (Oh, yes, the laptop survived the great water cup fall on it with only a $15 new keyboard, hallelujah!) We’ve considered a Wii, but might wait on that till the kids are older. Perhaps just a streaming player like  a Roku 2 from Amazon? Give me your ideas, people!

8. To those who’ve asked: yes, I’m done with my Frame a Day (they just need to be posted!) and my Frame a Week is in full swing! I’m happy to be changing things up a little for the new year, especially with the assumption we are moving in a few months, and with the busy session coming ahead. Now to finish out 2011…

9. Last week I almost had had three number 2 bullet points, instead of 1, 2, 3 before I caught myself. See? I’m human! ;)

10. Have a warm, and safe week!
