Christmas Cards! | Spokane, WA Photographer | Holly Clouse Photography

August 29th, 2010

Here’s the Christmas cards that I will be offering clients! Starting September 1st, any sessions booked with me will see a sample of these cards in their galleries. Nothing like getting started early and getting your Christmas cards finished! Life is already hectic enough around the holidays, and this is my time saver! ;) If you are a recent client, send me an email and we’ll get a special gallery set up for you to see these cards with your own images.

Finally, this week I will have a Christmas special announcement…hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend…last one in August! :)

5 On Friday… |Spokane, WA Photographer | Holly Clouse Photography

August 27th, 2010

1. I haven’t done a 5 on Friday in awhile! We’ve been (per usual) busy lately, getting lots of things done around the house…like getting a new fridge and chest freezer delivered tomorrow! I’m just slightly delighted, since our fridge is super old. Most families fridges are about 20-25cu.ft. and our old one is 10. BOO. :)

2. On that note, does anyone have fabulous dinner recipes that freeze well to share? Some friends shared some cookbooks and websites on Facebook (thank you!) but I would always love more. Do you freeze meals for your family? I’m thinking of having one day a month when I freeze roughly 12 meals, to have 3 a week for the next month. Would love for that to work well!

3. A few weeks ago I grabbed a Groupon for a FANTASTIC deal on a canvas, and today, it arrived!!! I’m in love. *swoon* I grabbed two super quick pictures before Emmalia attacked it (can you see her in the first picture in the bottom right hand corner? :) ), and the color is super wonky,  so excuse that. ;)

I got the idea from the fabulous Erin Cobb, and am in love with how it turned out. So much more amazing in person. Ahhhh….

4.  I currently have 2 sessions available in September, and 2-3 available in October. Please think NOW about getting Christmas pictures taken for you and your family. If you’ve been putting it off, why? My favorite thing about Christmas cards are getting to see the pictures, and looking back at the memories of each family year after year. I know so many families who keep saying they need/want to get pictures taken, and life just gets in the way. Make it an importance!

5. One last picture of my senior from a week ago today, as the gallery is up…really like this one!

Enjoy your Friday and weekend, everyone!

Senior Session | Spokane, WA Senior Photographer | Holly Clouse Photography

August 21st, 2010

This past Friday I had the pleasure of taking J’s senior pictures! I really enjoyed it; the S family’s property around their house is SO gorgeous, and J did an awesome job, I had a hard time narrowing down pictures for the sneak peek! It was fun to have a cooperative subject! :) J plays drums, so we put those in the field and it was really fun to get some shots of him playing them. I love when clients have those things in their pictures that make them that much more special.

We finished off with some family pictures, AND I got the always fun jumping shot, which I have been wanting to do for awhile.  S Family, hope you enjoy your sneak peek, I’ll be in contact soon with your full gallery!

4 Years | Spokane, WA Photographer

August 12th, 2010

4 years of happiness, joy, adventures, a family, memories and love! I can’t believe all that has happened in the last 4 years, and I am so looking forward to many new adventures and memories in the future. I was blessed with an amazing man who always stands up for what he believes in, and always makes me feel special. He’s the best daddy ever to our babies, and works so hard for us. Nathan, I love you!

P.S. Who else loves looking at wedding pictures and realizing how young they looked?!?! So fun! :)

Catching Up…| Spokane, WA Photographer

August 9th, 2010

Yay, I think I’m caught up! Caught up with voice mails and emails, and everything else life threw at us this busy weekend. If you’ve left me a message this past weekend about a session, you’ve been replied to! Another thing on my list was  a blog post, so here I am. :)

If you are interested in a end of summer/fall session with me, please contact me quickly! I have ONE session left in the last week of August, two session dates left in September, and two session dates left in October. Please contact me to know those dates, and for a full price list. I would absolutely love to work with you, and would love to see everyone with lovely portraits for their Christmas cards. :)
Tonight I am doing a stylized shoot with two lovely ladies at a nearby lake. I am thrilled to show pictures, and very excited to be shooting near water, which (sounds weird ;) ) doesn’t happen alot for me!

Something else I am excited to show everyone, pictures of me and on e of my best friends! My bestie moved away this past weekend (*sob*) and the talented, and lovely Lacey Browne took pictures of us together, which was a dream of mine to be able to do before she left. Lacey took the pictures, and I edited, so if that sucks, it’s my fault. ;) We seriously have SO MANY gorgeous images from our shoot…. (thank you again, Lacey!)

AND, Lacey was kind enough to take a few of me for my website. :)

Hope everyone is having a lovely start to their week!

Bad Blogger | Spokane, WA Photographer

August 4th, 2010

Has it really been that long since I blogged? Time is flying and moving a wee bit too quick for me these days. I might be currently looking for a pause button. ;)

Yesterday one of my best friends came over, and we had a lovely time doing a craft with the kids. And by lovely I mean; fun, crazy, silly, lots of paint, cleaning up, Landon spilling bubbles on the floor while cleaning, Emma falling in said bubbles, Emma getting a bath, Emma peeing and pooping on the floor after her bath. Ahem. It was however, lots of fun, and I *LOVE* how it turned out.

SO, awhile ago I found 12×12 canvases for $1.99 at Michael’s (if you never buy canvases, that’s a *REALLY* good deal. ) Originally I was thinking of modgepodging pictures on them and put a bunch of them up in a big square on the kids’ wall, but I’ve never found more than 2, and I have huge pictures on canvas in our living room. SO, we decided to put the kids’ hand and foot  prints on them. :) We used paint color’s that match their room…it’s super easy, and, as you can see by the pictures, the loved it. :)

*Disclaimer* Here is where pictures of darling Emma should be. However, there are not. If you would like to try to do this project while holding down a 13-month-old covered in paint, and take lovely pictures at the same time, be my guest. ;)

Tada! A really fun project, and super easy. The kids loved it. :)
Enjoy your Wednesday!

On Monday’s…|Spokane, WA Photographer

July 26th, 2010

I admit it. I don’t hate Monday’s. I don’t adore, love, or jump for joy on Monday’s. (ok, maybe some Monday’s ;) ) but I can’t abhor them along with the rest of the world either. Monday’s are, to my over-organized self, a balm to the soul. I love weekends. I love Friday’s leading up to the weekend. But Monday’s are organize day. Monday’s are the same routine every week, the only day of the week that 99.9% off the time, I do the exact.same.thing. I get groceries. I go to the bank. I come home and vacuum, make appointments, and return emails. And in the summer, spring and fall, we go outside and play and do yard work in the afternoon/evening, or I have a session while Nathan has a bible study with an (awesome) group of guys. Every Monday. Like clockwork. Very rarely do we deviate from that plan. Monday mornings when Landon wakes up he says, “Mommy, it’s grocery day! And then we get to go get stickers at the bank! And then we get to go outside!”

Now, we do go outside other days. And we do have to make a second run to the grocery store later in the week sometimes. But, really, Monday’s are where it’s at. A fresh new week, fresh ideas,  exciting adventures, happy faces ready for a new day. Monday get’s to me once in awhile, but it never gets me down. I like Monday’s.

10 On Tuesday…. | Spokane, WA Photographer

July 20th, 2010

1. Yay for Summertime! It seems as though we *finally* have some constant summer weather! I usually like summer but am really a fall/spring girl, but this year I am enjoying the warmth and heat. Our in-laws have a pool we love swimming in, and Emma and Landon are such water babies. They pretty much run around in their swimsuits all day long, and it’s pretty much the cutest ever. :)

2. Time for fall sessions! I am really starting to book up, so if you would like to schedule a session, please do so very soon! With this nice weather, it’s the perfect time for family portraits, and the perfect time to be thinking about lovely fall portrait’s for Christmas cards! I’m booking into September at this time, so hurry!

3. I am still looking for one more maternity model for my casting call! If you are going to be between 32-36 weeks from August 1st-October 31st (and I know alot of lovely ladies will be!!!) please contact me for details!

4. Ah, Emma. Such a doll, and such a crazy child at the same time. I have never ever seen a child climb this much or be this…uh, wild…I guess that’s the word for it. We love her to death, but wow. She does, however, look like a little angel in this picture, so maybe that makes up for it? ;)

5. We’re trying to get some travel dates squared away for a possible trip to Portland, OR in the beginning of September. Keep watching for the announcement, I’ve had alot of people call me about doing sessions in the Portland area, and as soon as we work out dates, I will announce a few sessions dates available, but they will go quick!

6. Landon loved his birthday, and, of course, his presents. This coming Saturday is one of his aunt’s birthday’s, and when he saw the present I had wrapped he kept saying, “That’s for me, right Mom? I can’t wait, I know that is for me!” Haha, you have a little while to wait little guy. ;)

7. I will also be having Christmas cards to show soon. I have some lovely designs this year, and I think they will be perfect with family portraits! Stay tuned for that as well, and a early holiday special in the beginning of August.

8. Every morning Landon goes in to see Emma when she has just woken up, or to wake her up. He runs in there and gives her hugs and kisses and says the sweetest things. This morning I was listening and heard, “Good morning baby! How are you? Good morning lovey, how’s my baby girl? My goodness Emma, I think you grew last night!!” Haha, I love it, SO.STINKIN.PRECIOUS!

9. Siblings are pretty much the best ever. ;)

10. Have a lovely Tuesday afternoon and evening!

The M Family | Spokane, WA Family Photographer

July 16th, 2010

Last night I had the pleasure of photographing the M Family. We got some pictures of the family together, and of little L who is now 18 months old! (You may remember him from our session last year at this time.) We had gorgeous weather (horray!) and I had fun chasing L around. I also snuck in a couple’s shot…lately with family sessions I love getting one of just mom and dad…so many times you just don’t get that many pictures with your spouse.

M Family, I had a lovely time! Enjoy your sneak peek and I will be in contact soon with your full gallery. :)
